Trade Distribution Program

Twice a year, IBPA convenes a committee of representatives from Borders, Barnes & Noble, Baker & Taylor, Ingram, Independent Publishers Group, and a few independent bookstore owners. This committee reviews all entered titles and either accepts or rejects the offered title.

If your title is accepted into this program you will be offered a contract for distribution by IPG.

If you are rejected, you will receive a BRIEF comment as to the reason for rejection. Stipulations on this program are:

1) You cannot have had your title previously stocked with B. Dalton and/or Barnes & Noble and/or been rejected previously;

2) You cannot currently have a contractual agreement with a distributor (a distributor is one who has 20 or more sales reps and has probably already presented your title to this marketplace);

3) We will accept a finished book and/or manuscript with a possible cover, as long as both are accompanied with a marketing plan.

If you have agreements with consignment wholesalers (such as Bookpeople, the distributors, etc.), you may enter this program. If you are accepted, IPG agrees to offer you a distribution contract. Send a copy of your title with reservation form.

Click here for a detailed explanation of the program.

If you are interested in entering this program, you must send your book and/or manuscript, marketing plans & reservation by no later than July 15, 2008.

I want to enter title(s) in this program. The fee is $55 per title.
